Welcome students and parents!!! My name is Ms. Gardner. I am your Algebra 1 EOC Intervention Specialist for the academic year 2017-2018. I would like to invite you to become a partner in your child’s learning experience this year. I believe your involvement will help your child attain a higher level of mathematical success. It is my job as your child’s teacher to equip them with the tools they will need in order to be a successful student. Our Math Department is recognized as being the “BEST” and we embrace our title. Students, all I ask from you is to stay focused by having a positive attitude, a willingness to work, study, and learn so that we may achieve “POSITIVE RESULTS”. I believe excellent classroom management is a necessary skill and attribute required in order to be an outstanding teacher. In addition, it is my belief that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually and socially. My desire as an educator is to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing a safe environment. It is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware and sensitive to their individual needs. I am giving them the tools to become successful in life, and to believe and love themselves. Participation in professional development workshops, team building and constantly striving to be the “BEST” teacher by being a Life-Long Learner can help our students have a better chance at being successful during their math career. This partnership between home and school can provide your child with a wealth of learning opportunities that will last a lifetime. I look forward to meeting with you and having your involvement in our math experience this year. Should you have any questions or concerns about your child’s grades or performance, feel free to contact me at (918) 964-2327 or (972) 274-1818 ext. 205 email: kiysha.gardner@desotoisd.org
